Sol Beer
In 1899 a German brewmaster was developing a new beer in an old brewery named “El Salta de Agua” (the water spring) near Mexico City, when a ray of bright sunlight shone through his brew. This event fired his imagination, leading him to name his new beer “El Sol” and the very first “Mexican sunshine beer” was born. In 1912 Cerveceria Moctezuma aquired “El Salta de Agua” and in 1924 the brand name changed from “El Sol” to simply “Sol”.
