Vina San Pedro

Vina San Pedro's foundations were forged in 1865, when brothers Bonifacio and Jose Gergoria Correa Albano, the fifth generation of their family, acquired pieces of land formerly owned by their ancestors. They began to produce their first wines with local grape varieties, and these were later replaced by noble vines from Southern France and Germany. In effect, they gave birth to viticulture in the Curico Valley.

Two emblamatic wines for this winery were launched into the market: one of them was Gato Negro, born in 1960. GatoNegro has grown to become one of the top selling Chilean wine families in Canada. Since then, Vina San Pedro has launched other premium ranges including: "Castillo de Molina" which represents a new concept of nobility, one that respects Chilean winemaking tradition while cultivating pleasure as a lifestyle, "1865" which was born as a homage to the wine and visionary vocation of Vina San Pedro's founders, and "Cabo de Hornos" considered by many as a reference for Chilean wine and an icon of Chilean viticulture. As a leading producer in Chile, Vina San Pedro has recently won numerous awards for its high quality premium wines.

Viña San Pedro is the second largest Chilean wine exporter and the country’s third biggest winery. The winery and is located in Curicó Valley, where San Pedro owns one of the largest continuous area of vineyards in South America, with 1,200 hectares. In total San Pedro has over 2,500 hectares planted all along the Central Valley. Since 1990 the company has long term contracts and has been acquiring vineyards in Chile’s other main viticulture valleys, such as Leyda, Colchagua, Maipo, San Antonio, Casablanca, Elqui and Limarí. Today these vineyards provide perfect conditions for several varieties.
